The Importance of a Flu Vaccine
Amidst the threat of a fall wave of Covid-19 cases in U.S.A., we face another challenge,
the 2020-2021 influenza Season impacting vulnerable populations.
We remind our residents that we are still in a pandemic and we should follow the guidance from the CDC on infection prevention measures — the 3 Ws:
Wear a mask
Wash your hands
Watch your distance from others (6 feet minimum)
According to the CDC, high-risk patients (Diabetes, Hypertension or Cardiac issues), adults aged 65 and older, younger children and pregnant women should get the vaccination for Influenza.
Preferably, see your Primary Care Physician (PCP) and get the general physical checkup.
This way, you can get your physical, blood tests, cardiogram etc. along with the flu
vaccine in one visit.
In addition, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
