Public Service Announcement from the Township Assessor, Deanna Wilkins

If you have recently purchased a home or are in the process of selling your home in Ginger Creek, you should review the assessed valuation letter sent to you by the assessor’s office in accordance with the 2019 general reassessment. This information determines your annual real estate tax bill.

If your home is assessed for more than you recently paid for your home or you are in the process of selling your home and the listing history demonstrates that your listing price is less than the fair market value as determined  by the assessor, you should call Deanna Wilkins, the York Township assessor to request the possibility of an adjustment to your real estate property valuation. Deanna Wilkins can be contacted at 630 627–3354. You must contact her before December 22, 2019 if you wish to request an adjustment.

Also, if you are 65 years or older you are entitled to a senior homestead exemption if the property is owner occupied. The exemption may be applied for any time during the year the owner reaches 65 years of age.
